The JUDO range of filters is designed to protect pipework and fittings from suspended particles in the incoming water supply. Designed and manufactured in Germany, they use a unique patented cleaning technique. Backwash velocities of up to 5.5 metres per second combined with the point rotation principle ensure maximum efficiency cleaning of the screen every time. The JUDO Backwash Process Maintains Flow - Increases Efficiency - Saves Water Clean water is drawn back through the dirty screen at the moving suction point (approx 9mm x 4mm), and sent to drain. Only a small area is cleaned at any one time during the 2 minute backwash cycle. This allows for higher backwash velocities up to 5.5m/sec, but a low flow to drain and uninterrupted service as filtration continuesthrough the remaining screen surface area. This is more efficient than some other more traditional filtration methods. Backwash multimedia or sand filters, for example, backwash by reversing the flow across the complete filter surface area, which temporarily stops the filtration process and dumps a large amount of water to drain. Backwah can be initiated manually, by timer or by pressure differential control.
